I feel like I'm not posting enough. Things have been crazy around the Kilpatrick household. Xander is officially 4 months old right now and is getting so big. Kierstin is officially her mother's daughter, she has the emotions to prove it. Addam is almost done with school and we are very thankful for that YAY!! And me, yeah I've been working like a mad woman. 50 hours a week minimum mandatory overtime. I HATE IT! First of all, I don't even want to be working. I want to be home with my kids, so when I am forced to work overtime it irritates me a little. But I will bide my time until Addam graduates and gets a sweet job so I can be the wife and mom I have always wanted to be.
I am off for the next 4 days and I really want to get out of the L.A. and go someplace, like the beach for instance. Now you won't see me in a bathing suit, but I think it would make for some great pictures for scrap booking. And I need to do that soon too. Alright well that's all for now. I'm going to attempt to be productive. I can't promise anything, but I'm gonna try!

The Never Ending Temper Tantrum
So tonight has been very trying for me. I'm trying to work on a different approach to how I deal with Kierstin(my 5 year old daughter). I have always been a screamer, and it doesn't really accomplish much, so I'm trying to get away from it.
Kierstin has been away for the last 3 days. She was at my mom's for the weekend with my niece Abby. So granted she was a little tired when she got home from daycare today. I got home from work around 5 and made dinner and then started getting things around for tomorrow. Around 6:00 Kierstin fell asleep. At that time I decided that we would be staying in for the evening and not attending Addam's softball game.
That's when it started. THE SCREAMING, THE CRYING AND THE CRAZINESS. Addam tried to deal with it, but I ended up telling him leave because he was going to be late for his game. So I thought what a great time to start my new approach to discipline. I figured since when I yell it fuels her, I was going to ignore her. Yeah, that didn't help. So then I decided OK if she wants to scream she can do it in her own room with the door closed. NOTHING WAS WORKING! So that's when I decided I was done with situation. I gave her a hug and a kiss and told her I was done and so was she and it was time for bed. I ended up taking her TV away from her and she has lost privileges to it until Thursday. SO this sounds like it took not much time at all to get through. NOT SO MUCH!! This was an hour and 15 minute temper tantrum. I couldn't believe it. So at this point in the evening I AM EXHAUSTED and ready to go to bed. Night all!

Friday Fun

I've been working a ton lately and really haven't had time for fun. Working 50 hours a week and having a new baby and a 5 year old can be a bit tiring. However, everyone needs fun in their lives right? Well last night after Addam's(my hot husband) softball game we went and decorated our Pastor's office for his birthday. Holy cow, I haven't laughed so hard in such a long time. When we first got there, nobody was really into it, we were tired and hot, but as we got going ideas started flying. We hung 31 balloons(his age) from the ceiling. 15 red 15 blue and 1 PINK one. Cause what man doesn't love a pink balloon. HAHAHA! We also draped crepe paper from all the balloons, and covered the floor his couch and his keyboard. Then Addam got this great idea. Let me give you a little background.
Pastor Manny is our children's Pastor and we both work in that ministry(Addam and I). Well he is so awesome with the kids and when the kids see him, it's almost like he is a celebrity. He is so amazing and has the Holy Spirit just overflowing out of him. He also has this fantastic wife, she has been so helpful to me since I've had Xander(that's my 3 1/2 month son). I was a little crazy after I had him and she gave me so much great advice. Anyway, that's a whole other blog. So that the background on them. So as you can imagine awesome guy who loves kid with a FABULOUS SENSE OF HUMOR. I have to add that before I tell you the last part of the decorating story.
So, anyway there we were throwing streamers all over and hanging balloons and Addam gets this idea. He tells Theresa(one of my greatest friends) to go get a baby doll. We get curious and go get the doll. When we get back, Addam is laughing so hard. He takes the baby and crepe papers it to the back of P.M.'s (Pastor Manny) chair. Then puts duct tape over the dolls mouth that says "I talked". OMG I laughed so hard I could barely breathe. I'm pretty sure I was close to peeing my pants.
We called him this morning and left him a message wishing him a great day. Then at about noon we get a phone call from him. He loved it. YAY SUCCESS!! And a Friday night filled with FUN!
