The game of patience is a game I hate to play!

So here I am, dinner has been made and eaten, Xander is sleeping, Kierstin is putting legos in random containers on the table, and Addam is on his way home from working out. We are in a very interesting spot in life right now. Addam just finished his Bachelor's Degree about 3 weeks ago and has already had a job interview. The interview went well, and now we are in the waiting period. Now if anyone knows me, they know my patience is about as long as my baby fingernail. So with that said, CAN THEY HURRY UP AND MAKE A DECISION ALREADY!! I don't know how much more I can take. Technically the guy said he would try and let Addam know by the 15th and it's only the 14th, but really do they have to wait til the last day. I think God is trying to teach me something and frankly it sucks! But lessons do have to be learned I suppose.Kierstin is doing pretty good in Kindergarten and is making all kinds of new friends. She can sing 3 different songs in Chinese and count to 9. I must say that I am impressed. Now if we can just get her to stop talking at table work time.

My little man is growing like a weed. He is so sweet and is always smiling, which is super cute with his two bottom toothies. He is also starting to crawl backwards, crazy boy.

So that's all, so hopefully we will hear something tomorrow. Please pray we do so I don't go crazy. I'm sure Addam and the kids would miss me when I'm in the looney bin!

An Update on the Kilpatrick's!!

So it's been awhile and things have been crazy busy! I am still working 58 hours a week and it's getting to be exhausting. I have had this whole weekend off and actually don't have to be back to work until Wednesday. I'm very happy about that. It looks like we will probably be on overtime for the rest of my life, so sorry peeps I may never see you again. LOL!!

Kierstin starts Kindergarten on Tuesday. I am very excited about it. She is doing an all day Kindergarten Chinese Immersion Program. Half the day will be learning English and American Culture and the second half will be learning Chinese and Eastern Culture. While I question my childs ability to eat her lunch in the 20 minutes allotted I am trying to stay optimistic.

Xander just turned 5 months old and is such a blessing. He is rolling all over the place and eating some solids. He had green beans tonight and didn't seem to mind them too much. We'll keep trying though.

Addam has two more CLEP tests to take and then he will have his Bachelor's Degree I am so proud of him and he has worked so hard for this. Well that's the wrap up on us and I will try to post a little more often.

Oh by the way I am very excited about some new friends that I've been hangin with more. You guys are becoming very special to me!

They got me!

So this week as been crazy!! I worked 58 hours because we are STILL on mandatory overtime. But it's all good and I'm ok with it! The money is phenomenal and it's helpful especially with the cost of daycare for us right now! So I worked 10 hours Monday-Friday and 8 hours on Saturday! We had plans to go to Frank's after work but to be honest I was exhausted and really didn't want to go, but I sucked it up and went. When I got there Frank was being really weird and was trying to have a serious conversation with me that wasn't making any sense, but I went with it. Then he was like nevermind and said lets go inside. I went in and he told me to go check out the bathroom because he had just gotten done remodeling it. I was excited to see it, they have made some amazing changes to their house and it looks great. So I went to look and I round the corner and "SURPRISE"!! NO WAY THEY GOT ME!! It was awesome! There were so many people there it was insane, but also very cool. I didn't know that so many people care about me and wanted to celebrate my 30th birhtday! The party was awesome despite the fact that Iwas exhausted. So here's to you crazy cat's you got me!! And I love you all. Thanks for celebrating my 30th birthday! It was a blast!

Take me to the beach!

I feel like I'm not posting enough. Things have been crazy around the Kilpatrick household. Xander is officially 4 months old right now and is getting so big. Kierstin is officially her mother's daughter, she has the emotions to prove it. Addam is almost done with school and we are very thankful for that YAY!! And me, yeah I've been working like a mad woman. 50 hours a week minimum mandatory overtime. I HATE IT! First of all, I don't even want to be working. I want to be home with my kids, so when I am forced to work overtime it irritates me a little. But I will bide my time until Addam graduates and gets a sweet job so I can be the wife and mom I have always wanted to be.

I am off for the next 4 days and I really want to get out of the L.A. and go someplace, like the beach for instance. Now you won't see me in a bathing suit, but I think it would make for some great pictures for scrap booking. And I need to do that soon too. Alright well that's all for now. I'm going to attempt to be productive. I can't promise anything, but I'm gonna try!

The Never Ending Temper Tantrum

So tonight has been very trying for me. I'm trying to work on a different approach to how I deal with Kierstin(my 5 year old daughter). I have always been a screamer, and it doesn't really accomplish much, so I'm trying to get away from it.

Kierstin has been away for the last 3 days. She was at my mom's for the weekend with my niece Abby. So granted she was a little tired when she got home from daycare today. I got home from work around 5 and made dinner and then started getting things around for tomorrow. Around 6:00 Kierstin fell asleep. At that time I decided that we would be staying in for the evening and not attending Addam's softball game.

That's when it started. THE SCREAMING, THE CRYING AND THE CRAZINESS. Addam tried to deal with it, but I ended up telling him leave because he was going to be late for his game. So I thought what a great time to start my new approach to discipline. I figured since when I yell it fuels her, I was going to ignore her. Yeah, that didn't help. So then I decided OK if she wants to scream she can do it in her own room with the door closed. NOTHING WAS WORKING! So that's when I decided I was done with situation. I gave her a hug and a kiss and told her I was done and so was she and it was time for bed. I ended up taking her TV away from her and she has lost privileges to it until Thursday. SO this sounds like it took not much time at all to get through. NOT SO MUCH!! This was an hour and 15 minute temper tantrum. I couldn't believe it. So at this point in the evening I AM EXHAUSTED and ready to go to bed. Night all!

Friday Fun

I've been working a ton lately and really haven't had time for fun. Working 50 hours a week and having a new baby and a 5 year old can be a bit tiring. However, everyone needs fun in their lives right? Well last night after Addam's(my hot husband) softball game we went and decorated our Pastor's office for his birthday. Holy cow, I haven't laughed so hard in such a long time. When we first got there, nobody was really into it, we were tired and hot, but as we got going ideas started flying. We hung 31 balloons(his age) from the ceiling. 15 red 15 blue and 1 PINK one. Cause what man doesn't love a pink balloon. HAHAHA! We also draped crepe paper from all the balloons, and covered the floor his couch and his keyboard. Then Addam got this great idea. Let me give you a little background.

Pastor Manny is our children's Pastor and we both work in that ministry(Addam and I). Well he is so awesome with the kids and when the kids see him, it's almost like he is a celebrity. He is so amazing and has the Holy Spirit just overflowing out of him. He also has this fantastic wife, she has been so helpful to me since I've had Xander(that's my 3 1/2 month son). I was a little crazy after I had him and she gave me so much great advice. Anyway, that's a whole other blog. So that the background on them. So as you can imagine awesome guy who loves kid with a FABULOUS SENSE OF HUMOR. I have to add that before I tell you the last part of the decorating story.

So, anyway there we were throwing streamers all over and hanging balloons and Addam gets this idea. He tells Theresa(one of my greatest friends) to go get a baby doll. We get curious and go get the doll. When we get back, Addam is laughing so hard. He takes the baby and crepe papers it to the back of P.M.'s (Pastor Manny) chair. Then puts duct tape over the dolls mouth that says "I talked". OMG I laughed so hard I could barely breathe. I'm pretty sure I was close to peeing my pants.

We called him this morning and left him a message wishing him a great day. Then at about noon we get a phone call from him. He loved it. YAY SUCCESS!! And a Friday night filled with FUN!
